Online resources to aid in research for planning, development, zoning, and land use.


  • MapIndy – View city-county data. Search an address or intersection, print maps, or view different layers of information including streets, parcels, parks, political boundaries, sanitary and storm sewers, and aerial photography.

 

  • Zoning browser – Search the map or enter a parcel number. Then you’ll find the primary and secondary zoning, rezoning, variances (if available online), and flood zone status. You can also find out if the location is in a historic preservation district, on the National Register, or in the Regional Center.

 

  • PlanIndy – Interactive map view of many elements of the Comprehensive Plan for Indianapolis and Marion County and other planning-related information.

 

 

 

  • Registered Neighborhood Organizations – Allows organizations to provide contact information to receive notification of public hearings regarding re-zonings, variances, special exceptions, approvals, administrative appeals, plat approvals/vacations, street and alley vacations, and liquor licensing activities. Residents can also search the database for existing organizations in their area.

 

  • Zoning Check – Simplifies the site selection process and shows you where your project is permitted.

 

  • Indy Vitals – Indy Vitals contains data about the built environment, economy, education, equity, health, natural systems, and general demographics for all areas of Marion County.

 

  • Homeowners’ Building Permit Guide – A helpful guide to identify work that requires a permit, how to get a permit and answer commonly asked building and compliance questions.
